Union Board presents A Conversation with Andrew Yang and Taryn Southern at IU Auditorium. This 2023 Lou Mervis Distinguished Lecture will feature a panel conversation on the relevance, importance, and regulation of artificial intelligence (AI).
Former Presidential and New York City Mayor candidate, bestselling author, podcaster, entrepreneur, philanthropist, and founder of the Forward Party, Andrew Yang will bring knowledge on the impacts of artificial intelligence and automation on the working class and need for AI regulation. He’s spent the last few years launching a non-profit, Humanity Forward, to provide stimulus to millions of Americans, and co-writing his new political thriller book, The Last Election.
Taryn Southern, an award-winning AI artist, filmmaker, and entrepreneur, will join as an AI and tech enthusiast. Her projects include producing and co-directing a documentary on the future of the brain and composing the world’s first AI album expose the bleeding edge of tech and humanity. With over 750 million views, her pioneering content and projects have captured the attention of various publications, earned her multiple awards, and solidified herself as an icon of emerging technology and art.
