Event Description
Indiana University’s Zeta Tau Alpha (ZTA) proudly presents the 25th Annual Big Man on Campus (BMOC), ZTA's largest and most anticipated philanthropy event of the year. BMOC brings together talented men from across campus for an unforgettable night of performances, competition, and, most importantly, purpose.
Throughout the year, ZTA works to make an impact on the IU community through philanthropy events, tournaments, merchandise sales, and countless opportunities to come together for a cause bigger than ourselves. BMOC is the culmination of that year long effort, when the chapter comes together to celebrate the incredible support of the community and reveal the total raised for breast cancer education, awareness, and research.
Zeta Tau Alpha has a longstanding commitment to the fight against breast cancer. Through its partnership with the IU Simon Comprehensive Cancer Center and Dr. Hari, ZTA's fundraising directly supports breast cancer research here in Indiana, fueling education, awareness, and advancements in treatment. ZTA also proudly support national partners including the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, American Cancer Society, and the NFL. With one in eight women expected to be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime, ZTA's goal is to turn one in eight into none in eight.
Hear how ZTA directly supports IUSCCC:
“The IU Melvin and Bren Simon Comprehensive Cancer Center does not shy away from challenges—and has a history of leading the way in researching rare and complex cancers. Their breast cancer research program is no exception. Thanks to the support of incredible philanthropic partners like Zeta Tau Alpha, IU's cancer researchers can take risks and pursue new avenues of discovery that save lives.
For the last couple of years, Zeta Tau Alpha has supported the Nakshatri Breakthroughs Fund at the IU Simon Comprehensive Cancer Center. This fund provides seed funding to IU investigators to help develop their promising breast cancer research programs. This seed funding is critical in the early stage of research to demonstrate the viability of ideas before they can compete for larger federal grants to sustain their labs long-term.”
Beyond that, this year BMOC carries an even deeper meaning as we honor sister Kate Johnson. Kate fought stage four rhabdomyosarcoma with an unmatched strength, positivity, and ability to find joy in the little things. Her light continues to live on in the chapter and in every person whose life she touched. In her honor, a portion of BMOC proceeds will be donated directly to Kate’s Krew, supporting critical sarcoma research and carrying Kate’s legacy forward.
BMOC is more than a talent show. It is a celebration of the people who have fought, the families who have supported them, the survivors who inspire us, and the loved ones we carry with us. It is a night rooted in celebration, resilience, hope, and purpose and is a reminder of what we can accomplish when a community comes together.
Thank you for standing with Zeta Tau Alpha, supporting those impacted by cancer, and helping work toward a future where pink is just a color again.
