Renowned Saxophonist Branford Marsalis and His Quartet to Perform January 25
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Branford Marsalis, the Grammy Award-winning saxophonist, composer, and bandleader, along with the acclaimed Branford Marsalis Quartet, is set to captivate Bloomington with a live performance at IU Auditorium on January 25 at 7:30 p.m.
Marsalis, hailed as one of the most revered instrumentalists of his time, brings his unparalleled talent and innovative approach to jazz to the heart of Indiana University. Known for his technical prowess and emotive performances, Marsalis has long been a trailblazer in the world of contemporary jazz, pushing musical boundaries and delighting audiences worldwide.

Branford Marsalis to Engage with Jacobs School of Music Students
During his time in Bloomington, Marsalis will engage with students from the Jacobs School of music with two separate interactions. First, he will lead a clinic where jazz students will perform live, and Marsalis will provide direct feedback and advice on their performance. He will then also meet with composition majors sharing insights on his composition process and inspirations.
An Evening with Branford Marsalis at IU Auditorium is presented in partnership with IU Foundation, WFIU, and Lamar Outdoor Advertising. IU Auditorium’s 2023–2024 season is presented by B97, French Lick Resort, Curry Auto Center, The Herald Times, Upland Brewing Company, and World Arts Inc.
