Announcing Building the IU Auditorium Season: A Masterclass with Doug Booher on January 28

Jan 15 / 2021

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – IU Auditorium is proud to announce Building the IU Auditorium Season: A Masterclass with Doug Booher on Thursday, January 28 at 8 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. CT. The Executive Director of IU Auditorium will present a livestream masterclass on how a season of performances comes together and how the Auditorium prepares for events. The live presentation will be available to view on Zoom and the IU Auditorium Facebook page.

Along with his role at the Auditorium, Booher is also the Executive Director of University Events and IU Event Services. Among all three units, he provides leadership for hundreds of events that serve more than one million guests each year, including commencement ceremonies, live performances, and athletic events, just to name a few.

IU Auditorium was Booher’s first love, and it was where he began working towards the career he has today. He first started at the Auditorium as a volunteer usher in 1991. Along the way, he developed the +1 customer service philosophy, which he instills in everything he oversees, and he has led the booking process for IU Auditorium events since 1999.

This special event is being presented with support from World Arts, Inc. and Fred and Beth Cate, along with our season partners Curry Auto Center and Cook.
