IU Auditorium Announces Lineup for 2026–2027 Season
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana University Auditorium announces its 2026–2027 season schedule that includes Broadway hits, award-winning musicians and performers, and more.
The schedule is packed full of Broadway hits and national touring favorites, including the Bloomington debuts of SIX, Shucked, and The Wiz as well as Legally Blonde – The Musical, Waitress, and RENT in Concert.
In addition to these amazing musicals, IU Auditorium will welcome one of Broadway’s biggest stars for the second annual Curry Family Spotlight, a program dedicated to bringing the finest performing artists to IU Bloomington. For this season, Tony Award-winner Sutton Foster will perform onstage alongside IU and local K-12 students.
The Auditorium will also host one of the nation’s most distinguished ensembles, the National Symphony Orchestra, returning to IU for the first time in nearly seven decades. The performance will be under the baton of Gianandrea Noseda and feature Ray Chen on violin.
Jacobs Live at the Movies returns to IU Auditorium for the second time, and this year will feature Disney’s Frozen in Concert as the IU Philharmonic Orchestra from the Jacobs School of Music provides the soundtrack to a live film screening of the hit animated film.

We invite patrons to explore our subscription options by choosing five or more shows to save up to 24 percent off single-ticket prices on most performances. We look forward to welcoming audiences for another memorable season of shared live experiences.”
Other exciting performances include Cirque Éloize and Ballet Hispánico New York, each performing evening-length works, as well as Jazz at Lincoln Center Presents World on a String: Swinging Songs of Broadway. And of course, Bloomington favorites and annual traditions Dennis James Hosts Halloween, Straight No Chaser, and The Singing Hoosiers Present Holiday Chimes return.
Purchasing Process in 2026–2027
IU Auditorium subscribers have the opportunity to select their own seats and save up to 24 percent off single ticket prices by picking five to subscribe. Loyalty Points members and new subscribers will be able to place their orders and select their seats before tickets go on sale to the general public. Jacobs Live at the Movies: Frozen in Concert

Jacobs Live at the Movies returns as the IU Philharmonic Orchestra will perform Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Frozen in Concert with composer Christophe Beck’s GRAMMY®-nominated score.
The film and its multi-Platinum soundtrack feature eight songs written by Academy Award®, Emmy®, and GRAMMY®-winning songwriters Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, including the Oscar® and GRAMMY®-winning song “Let It Go” performed by Idina Menzel.
Fearless optimist, Princess Anna, sets off on an epic journey—teaming up with rugged mountain man, Kristoff, and his loyal reindeer Sven—to find her sister Elsa, whose icy powers have trapped the kingdom of Arendelle in eternal winter. Encountering Everest-like conditions, mystical trolls, and a hilarious snowman named Olaf, Anna and Kristoff battle the elements in a race to save the kingdom. Waitress

Meet Jenna, a waitress and expert pie maker who dreams of a way out of her small town and rocky marriage. Pouring her heart into her pies, she crafts desserts that mirror her topsy-turvy life such as “The Key (Lime) to Happiness Pie” and “Betrayed by My Eggs Pie.” When a baking contest in a nearby county (and a satisfying encounter with someone new) show Jenna a chance at a fresh start, she must find the courage to seize it. Change is on the menu, as long as Jenna can write her own perfectly personal recipe for happiness.

An Evening with Sutton Foster

Sutton Foster is a two-time Tony Award-winning actress, singer, and dancer widely recognized as one of Broadway’s leading performers. For her Bloomington performance, she will be joined onstage by IU dance and choral students along with local K-12 performers for what promises to be a special evening.
Foster most recently starred as Princess Winnifred in Once Upon a Mattress during its acclaimed Broadway revival. Prior, she starred as Mrs. Lovett in the Tony Award-winning Broadway revival of Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, as well as Marian Paroo in the 2022 Broadway revival of The Music Man, earning her seventh Tony Award nomination.
She first rose to prominence originating the title role in Broadway’s Thoroughly Modern Millie, earning her first Tony Award, and later won her second for Anything Goes. Her extensive stage credits include The Drowsy Chaperone, Shrek the Musical, Young Frankenstein, Violet, and Sweet Charity.
On screen, Foster starred in TV Land’s Younger and appeared in Bunheads, Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life, and the final season of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. As a solo artist, she has toured the country with stops at Carnegie Hall, Feinstein’s, Lincoln Center’s American Songbook series, and many others. Foster holds an honorary doctorate from Ball State University, where she also teaches.
Ballet Hispánico New York

Ballet Hispánico New York is the nation’s leading American Latino dance company and the largest cultural institution of its kind in the United States. For over five decades, it has been a beacon of artistic excellence, celebrated for its bold repertory and exceptional training programs.
The Bloomington performance will be an evening-length presentation of CARMEN.maquia. Since the debut in 1875, Carmen, the titular character from Bizet’s opera, has become a timeless cultural icon, inspiring generations of composers, choreographers, and writers to attempt to capture her elusive and alluring nature.
Ballet Hispánico honors the powerful Spanish leading lady with Gustavo Ramírez Sansano’s electrifying CARMEN.maquia. One of today’s most sought-after choreographers, Sansano’s quintessential ballet invigorates this timeless tale with an unrelenting energy that leaves you breathless. Highly original and full of explosive movement, CARMEN.maquia is a bold reimagining of this tragic tale.
Dennis James Hosts Halloween

Bloomington’s favorite musical mastermind is back for his annual spooky spectacular. Dennis James returns to the IU Auditorium pipe organ for a spine-tingling Halloween tradition that blends vintage thrills with live musical artistry.
The evening will begin with a live radio-style re-enactment of the Inner Sanctum mystery “The Vengeful Corpse,” drawing audiences into a chilling tale of suspense straight from the golden age of radio and starring student actors from IU’s Department of Theatre and Drama.
James will then perform solo as he provides his signature live organ accompaniment to two silent film comedy classics: Laurel & Hardy’s eerie (and hilarious) Habeas Corpus and Buster Keaton’s clever caper The Haunted House. Equal parts spooky and spirited, this Halloween favorite delivers laughter, nostalgia, and just the right amount of fright.

Straight No Chaser

The holiday season is not complete without the return of a cappella sensations Straight No Chaser—born right here at Indiana University. The group has become synonymous with the sound of the holidays, delivering crowd-pleasing arrangements with humor, heart, and flawless harmonies. This year’s performance will be part of their nationwide Making Spirits Bright Tour.
The nine-man act, including Walter Chase, Jerome Collins, Seggie Isho, Michael Luginbill, Steve Morgan, Luke Bob Robinson, Jasper Smith, Tyler Trepp, and Freedom Young, has served as a festive blend of harmonious voices for three decades.

Cirque Éloize

Making its IU Auditorium debut, Cirque Éloize has been a creative force and ambassador for Quebec culture for over three decades. As a precursor to contemporary circus, the company constantly reinvents the art of encounter by combining circus, music, dance, theater, and technology to offer experiences that go beyond simple entertainment and remain etched in the minds of audiences.
In Bloomington, they’ll perform an evening-length work titled iD – Evolution. Acrobats defy gravity, dancers explode into striking urban movements, and every space is transformed into a playground for the imagination. Trampoline, aerial hoop, trial bike, breakdancing, and many other disciplines intertwine in an electrifying performance where every jump, every movement, and every note of music tells a story.
iD – Evolution explores identity and encounter in a world where bodies speak, clash, and respond to each other. Marking the fifth production in the Jazz at Lincoln Center PRESENTS series, guest vocalists Kate Kortum and David Marino will debut arrangements of tunes from Broadway’s most beloved productions including Hamilton, Wicked, South Pacific, West Side Story, and more in a special concert event entitled World on a String: Swinging Songs of Broadway.

RENT in Concert

An ensemble of stellar vocalists and instrumentalists come together to share the iconic music of RENT like never before. This symphonic take on the Jonathan Larson’s beloved musical includes the full score of the show, including favorites like “Seasons of Love,” “La Vie Bohème,” and “Take Me or Leave Me.”
Set in the East Village of New York City, RENT is about falling in love, finding your voice, and living for today. Winner of the Tony Award for Best Musical and the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, RENT has become a pop cultural phenomenon with songs that rock and a story that resonates with audiences of all ages.
Based loosely on Puccini’s La bohéme Boheme, Jonathan Larson’s RENT follows a year in the life of a group of impoverished young artists and musicians struggling to survive and create in New York’s Lower East Side, under the shadow of HIV/AIDS. The physical and emotional complications of the disease pervade the lives of Roger, Mimi, Tom, and Angel. Maureen deals with her chronic infidelity through performance art; her partner, Joanne, wonders if their relationship is worth the trouble. Benny has sold out his Bohemian ideals in exchange for a hefty income and is on the outs with his former friends. Mark, an aspiring filmmaker, feels like an outsider to life in general. How these young bohemians negotiate their dreams, loves, and conflicts provides the narrative thread to this groundbreaking musical.
National Symphony Orchestra

One of the nation’s most distinguished ensembles, the National Symphony Orchestra (NSO) returns to IU Auditorium for the first time in nearly seven decades. The internationally celebrated orchestra performs more than 150 concerts annually and is heard by audiences across the country through high-profile broadcasts and national events.
The performance will be conducted by Gianandrea Noseda, the NSO’s music director and one of the world’s most sought-after conductors. Noseda is currently in his ninth season with the orchestra. The evening also will feature solo violinist Ray Chen, a global phenomenon redefining classical performance for the 21st century.
The Bloomington program will open with Rossini’s sparkling William Tell Overture, followed by Samuel Barber’s lyrical and technically dazzling Violin Concerto featuring Chen. The evening concludes with Beethoven’s Symphony No. 6, the beloved “Pastoral,” a vivid and evocative journey through nature that remains one of the composer’s most cherished works.
